One man received a heartbreaking text from his wife moments before a devastating plane crash in Washington.

Fatal plane crash explained.

At approximately 9 p.m. on January 29, 2025, American Airlines Flight 5342, en route from Wichita, Kansas, was on its final approach to Runway 33.

Concurrently, a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was conducting a routine training mission in the vicinity.

Tragically, the two aircraft collided mid-air over the Potomac River, resulting in a catastrophic accident.

Eyewitnesses described a massive fireball illuminating the night sky as the two aircraft collided.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the collision.

Preliminary reports suggest that air traffic control had cleared both aircraft for operations in the same airspace, raising questions about potential communication breakdowns.

Historically, the Potomac River has been the site of aviation tragedies, most notably the 1982 Air Florida Flight 90 crash, which also ended in the icy waters of the river.

This latest incident has reignited concerns about air traffic management and the complexities of coordinating military and commercial flight operations in shared airspace.

Emergency response units assembled on the tarmac as search and rescue operations commenced in the Potomac River.

The Metropolitan Police Department stated that multiple agencies are coordinating efforts, but there is no confirmed information on casualties at this time.

American Airlines expressed deep concern for the passengers and crew, stating, “We are in contact with authorities and assisting with emergency response efforts.”

Wife’s final text before tragedy exposed.

In a heart-wrenching twist, Hamaad Raza stood anxiously at Washington D.C.’s Reagan National Airport, awaiting his wife’s arrival.

Just minutes before the anticipated reunion, his phone buzzed with a message: “Landing in 20 minutes.”

Unbeknownst to him, this would be their final communication.

Back at the airport, Hamaad Raza’s concern grew as his subsequent messages to his wife remained undelivered.

“That’s when I realized something was up,” he recounted, displaying the undelivered messages on his phone.

For Hamaad Raza and others awaiting loved ones, the pain is immeasurable.

“I’m just praying that someone is pulling her out of the river right now. That’s all I can pray for,” Raza said, his voice heavy with emotion.

The harrowing wait for information was agonizing for families gathered at the airport.

The investigation continues.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities will examine flight data recorders, pilot communications, and air traffic control protocols to determine the sequence of events that led to this tragedy.

The aviation community mourns the loss, and questions arise about how such a disaster could occur in controlled airspace.

The coming days will undoubtedly bring more information, but for now, the focus remains on recovery and understanding.

Communities rally together, offering support to the grieving families affected by this unimaginable loss.

As the nation grapples with this tragedy, the resilience and unity of its people shine through the darkest of times.
